Thank you for your interest in sustainability!
These are a few ways on how I integrate and implement sustainability into my creativity and business. I would love to hear from you with more ideas and inspirations!
For the print patterns that I sell locally
- I use recycled paper
- they are plastic free
- apart from having a few samples that are available for sale, all others are made-to-order, i.e. I only print and bind the patterns that are ordered
- I am offering a local take-back scheme: customers who are returning their used patterns will get a AUD3 credit towards their next purchase. This ensures that the paper is recycled again, as well as the wire binding being re-used
This on-demand production reduces impact on the environment while it aligns with customers who focus on sustainability.
Some other practices include
- re-using paper as note paper before recycling it and turning it into new paper
- collecting all fabric off-cuts and thread off-cuts and sending them to Upparel which is an Australian company who recycle textile waste and sewing scraps
- turning off my computer when not in use
- giving back to nature by donating a percentage of every sale to Planet Ark’s Seedling Bank who focus on reducing impacts on the environment
I am currently exploring compostable packaging and wholesale sustainable supplies to offer my patterns to a larger customer base.
I am also building a list of sustainable craft supplies. Please help me expand this list by contributing and sharing!
